    After greasing remove the excessive grease with a damp cloth.

    Yes, instead of a ski brake you can use the easy to mount safety leash from our available accessories. We recommend using all bindings with at least one safety device.

    Since ski touring boots do not have a secure receptacle for safety straps, we recommend using the safety strap in combination with a ski brake.

    When climbing uphill the Xenic is blocked at the toe as are all pin bindings with lateral release in the heel.
    Going downhill the Xenic provides secure support and will not release until the set force is reached. An impact from below can't open the front binding system. It does not have to be blocked.
    Blocking the release function of a binding for downhill skiing may cause considerable injuries.

    Alpine boots for children are compatible with the Scout only when you see the letter A on the sole of the boot (approx. from Mondo 22.0 on). This means that the boot was built in accordance with DIN ISO 5355 (alpine boots for adults). If you see the letter C, they are made according the standrads of children boots and are not compatible.

    Make sure that you activate it in the first walk level, as shown on the picture or video. Position the tip of the ski pole on the retaining edge of the blade. Lightly tap the top of the ski pole with your hand to release the hold. The blade can then be turned backwards with the basket of the ski pole. The function is not ensured until the binding is lowered to the ski and the blade audibly snaps in.
    The crampons have to be mounted in order to be activated or deactivated.

    The warranty period is two years. Instructions and conditions are provided in the Warranty Certificate section of your user manual.
    If you register your bindings the warranty period will be extended by one year.
    For the necessary serial numbers, please see the instruction manual or, in case of Alubar models, the bottom of the automatic heel unit.

    No. The DIN-value is calculated: with the following parameters: skier's weight, height, age, boot sole length and type of skier.
    IMPORTANT: the DIN-value is only an approximate value and might be corrected by one up or down after a bad release.

    When you change from the ski to the walk position in back, it is important to do it in two steps as shown on the picture or video:
    1.   Turn the heel and use the climbing aid as a lever (do not touch the ski stopper)
    2.   Ski brake locks automatically when you take the first step

    The DIN settings define the force at which the binding is supposed to release. It is determined according to DIN ISO shown in this table and based on the skier's weight, height, the length of the boot's sole, the age and the type of skier you are. On the internet you'll find different DIN calculators; example.
    We recommend having the settings adjusted and checked by a specialist dealer.

    Caution: Never clean ice or snow on the front jaw as this could damage the binding.
    Tip: After stepping in, move the boot up and down two or three times to push any remaining snow and ice out of the inserts.
